An essential strategy
One of the most important strategies in any change management process is the need for clear, simple and effective communication.
An organisation that seeks to change needs to know what is to take place, why and when. Without effective communication and understanding people within the organisation and external to it run the risk of feeling alienated and disenfranchised from the process. If this happens, barriers to change occur.
To overcome communication issues it is essential that there be regular updates of progress, achievement of milestones and opportunities for open and honest discussion. The essence of communication is to convey a message from one party to another. Good communication is a two way process with openness, availability and empathy towards concerns that are expressed.
Strong communication will create a level of understanding of the issues involved and ensure the best possible opportunity to develop trust and support for the change process.
